Missouri Shoepeg: Shoepeg corn emerged as a new category of maize in the antebellum period and gets its name from the way its kernels are arranged - deep and irregularly spaced, packed in a zigzag pattern, and have a similar shape to the wooden pegs used to attach shoe soles in the 19th century. The staff sampled this awesome bourbon and provided the following tasting notes:

Nose: Cream cheese, light cherry aroma, even.

Taste: slight sweetness, earthy, sweet corn.

Mouth Feel: creamy and light.

Finish: Sweet with a slight tartness and zero heat. This bourbon is like a little window into the past. If you had ancestors who made whiskey in Missouri before Prohibition, it was likely made with this corn due to its prominence in the area at the time. I believe this one will be a fan favorite, but I'll let you decide.

Cateteo: Cateto is the name of this allocated corn bourbon. Cateto is an orange flint heritage corn. The word "cateto" is Spanish and was used to describe simple, unsophisticated rural people... The staff sampled this excellent bourbon and provided the following tasting notes.

Nose: Sweet, nutty, and earthy

Taste: Sweet from front to back with fruity tones of banana, toffee, and rye.

Mouthfeel: Silky and creamy, with a heavier texture up front but holding well until the very end.

Finish: Lazy river smooth, long, balanced, then a little spice right at the end. Cateto is an outstanding bourbon that can only be found with Wood Hat Spirits. It's all about the corn!

Bloody Purple: Our Bloody Purple bourbon is made with corn selected from our Bloody Butcher variety, which displays a purple color:

Nose: Cola syrup, honey, Amburana, and Oak.

Palate: Creamy, viscous, sweet in the front and a big, delightful presence in the middle.

Finish: All in the front, smooth from the tip of the tongue to the very end of the palate, with very little to no heat from start to finish.

This one is very special and is sure to be a favorite by many!
